Any good ideas for getting rid of belly fat besides crunches and sit-ups?
The only fat on my body is my belly. I have had three children and I am small everywhere else. My belly isn’t real big, just some jelly to get rid of! Help!
Crunches and sit-ups only increase muscle mass in the abdominal region. In order to rid yourself of fat you must do cardio while taking in less calories at each meal. Belly fat is the most stubborn on anyone’s body so it takes some work. The best combo for burning fat is weights and cardio.

You need to combine crunches and sit-ups WITH cardiovascular activities such as running to burn fat. You can do millions of sit-ups but if it’s all buried under a layer of fat, no one will be able to see all the work you put in.

I currently run 4 times a week for an hour, and do toning exercises at least 5-6 times a week and I’m seeing results.

Crunches and sit-ups do not decrease belly fat! Only cardio and weight training coupled with a decrease in caloric intake will shrink your belly. Keep doing your abwork, but don’t do it with weights or you will add muscle bulk. Now get off the floor and get to the gym!
