The BEST LOWER ABS Exercise

Monday, November 30th, 2009

“Hanging Hip Lifts” is one of the most challenging exercises for preferential activation of the “lower” abdominal muscles. The secret in performing this movement correctly is the rotation of the hips and a distinct pause at the top of each repetition.

Your abs contract on a continuum of graduated activation, in this case, from lower to upper. You cant totally isolate a specific region, but you can focus on it… and this exercise is phenomenal if you want to contract your abs from the bottom up. The key is to make these as slow and as deliberate as possible.

Besides crunches, whats some good exercises for the abs?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I do about 200 crunches already, but what are some other good exercises? Especially for the lower abs? I hear different kinds of leg lifts work well, but I’m not sure how to do them.

Try some polates-talk about tone ya up fast!!Be careful though-the first real good workout I didn"t think I would be sore but OMG!!! They truly work-just hang in there.

Need tips to keep myself fit?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Hello i am 24 years old female and my height is 5′4” and i weight 132. I have to reduce to 120.I do not eat any kind of meat. I have joined bally fitness but do not go regularly due to busy schedule. Can someone suggest me what should i do to reduce weight and get my body in shape. Also whenever i go to gym i do 20 mins running and 20 mins abs. I have to get in shape by the end of this month. Please help.

Eating breakfast is very important. It helps with your metabolism. When you go to sleep your metabolism starts to slow down into hibernation mode. Eating breakfast wakes up your metabolism to help you start burning calories early in the day. Not eating breakfast keeps your metabolism in hibernation mode until you next eat, often causing you to overeat. If you already eat breakfast, increasing your protein will help build muscle to burn more calories and allow you to eat more without gaining weight. Especially since you don’t eat meat, you should try to increase your protein a little, but don’t over-do it. But other than diet, it already looks like you’re on the right track with exercise. Maybe some strengthening would help, just remember that it takes time.

What is the toughest abs workout you can possibly think of?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

And would you do it?

The expert section of thisbook has some tough stuff.

Variety of exercise is the key I have found. For example..an exercise called Mountain Climbers which can get tough!

Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup position
and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are
moving in under your chest and then back out to starting
position. It sort of resembles climbing a mountain but flat on
the floor. If you want an advanced version, you can also
shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward in
addition to the leg movements. This really makes it a full
body exercise and MUCH more difficult than standard mountain climbers.

After finishing each exercise, rest about 30 seconds before
starting the next exercise. Rest about 1-2 minutes after
completing each "tri-set" before repeating.

This will give you one of the best ab workouts you’ve ever had
without even doing any direct ab exercises. You’ll see what I
mean after you try it!

Once you get away from the myth that a 1000 crunches and 500 situps a day is all you need to do for great abs, then amazing results can be seen.

There is a completely free 65 page ebook at http://www.projext.co.uk that you can download (no catch!) and it is excellent.

It helped me greatly.

What’s the best sport to help work your abs and flatten your tummy?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Have a belly I seriously need to get rid of. Pilates and sit-ups are ok, but not doing much. Please help.

I know this will sound a bit odd but it’s not a joke. I used to be overweight and wanted to do something about it but didn’t know where to start. As I began reading about what kinds of excersizes are most effective I kept reading that sex is the #2 effective in general (behind swimming). I told my boyfriend that I wanted to try that approach and so everytime I wanted to snack on something unhealthy and well, anytime I just felt like it, we had sex. If you aren’t able to do that then I would go with swimming. I eventually lost my sweet tooth and a lot of weight and began modelling. Also saw an Oprah episode where women were saying how they lost more than 100 lbs (mine wasn’t near that much, I lost 40 pounds) and one of them did the same thing I did. If you’re in a situation where that is possible for you (without any emotional damage) I would strongly suggest it! (ps-I got serious abs too, as long as you’re trying out things that will work more muscles in bed)

abs diet????

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

i have been doing the abds diet 4 2 weeks now and havnt lost anything is this normal? am i doing something wrong?

Your protein to carb rate needs to be 70% protein to 30% Carbs.
Increase your water intake.

What is the fastest way to loose a small amount of stomach fat?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I have one small roll on my stomach and need to loose it in a hurry, how can i do this? Otherwise I am in pretty good shape. I just want my stomach to be completely toned, no fat what so ever. Any help would be great.

My favorite: throw downs. This works best with a partner for added resistance. Lay on your back and have your partner straddle you head/neck. Lift your legs up (keeping straight and what not) to your partner and have them push your legs back down. Do not let your legs touch the floor, keep them straight.

Course, this can be down without a partner, but I find a partner makes it more effective, and they can throw you at different angles to work different muscles.

As with most stomach exercises, be sure to do it properly, etc, etc and use your abs, not your back.

what are good exercises for the abs?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

i did sit-ups for a while but now they’re just time consuming. i want something that is hard and really works my abs. i know good dieting and stuff will is a big part in getting good abs but i mean besides that.

What are the best excersises a woman can do to sculpt her back?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

I’m starting to get back into fitness. I enjoy working out. I sometimes skim through magazines like Self to get exercise tips but I find that most of the time the moves are focused on toning your abs, butt, and legs. Only once did I see an exercise focused on the back but it requires that you do it on this specific piece of gym equipment. I don’t belong to a gym and I don’t have one at home. I want to build muscle in and/ tone my upper back but my main problem area is my lower back. That’s the area I’m interested in the most. Does anyone have any tried and true techniques they can offer/recommend?

Note: I don’t mind lifting weights

The lower back tends to store a larger percentage of body fat than the upper back. So for the most part, people feel they have to "spot tone" their lower back when in actuality and loss of body fat will do wonders for this area. Besides extensions, there is very little you can do to "tone" this area which naturally develops on its own through the course of most weight training regimens. You don’t need fancy equipment or machinery and you don’t even need to be a member of a gym.

You can do most of the following with an inexpensive sets of dumbells or elastic resistance which are both very affordable. Here’s a great list of back exercises:
http://www.preventdisease.com/fitness/Strength_Exercises_back.html

If you are a beginner, I would highly recommend you receive at least some basic guidance from a professional before attempting any of the above.

What types of dance are great for a workout and abs?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

For example hip-hop? contemporary? spanish? I want a good workout for mainly abs/torso, and is also enjoyable.

Hip-hop is good, because it consists of many moves that exercise your core. Break-dancing is also great, because it requires alot of control in your abdominals (therefore toning them), and it’s fun!

How can i flatten my abs, my stomach and make my hips smaller?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

You can’t do spot training but you can lose allover fat from doing at least 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a weeks and strength training every other day and you need to eat 1200- 1400 calories a day (just have 1 cheat day a week.)

How do you do the "Abs Diet" for women?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

I’m reading the book, "Abs Diet" It seems to be written for men. I’m a woman, 33, I’d like to lose about 10 lbs, mostly around the middle. Will this diet really work for me? Should I adapt it for a woman, I guess eat about half of the food suggested?

There is a book by the same author called ‘Abs Diet for Women.’ It’s a green book. I bought it and read it, but there were just too many guidelines that I got lost in it. I like for any diet I do to be easy and straight-forward. But there is a book just for women if you’d like to try it.

Is it possible to move stomach fat to your breasts?

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

I am a 16 year old female and have really small breasts. I heard that gaining body weight could make them bigger, so I gained some weight, except it all went to my stomach and now I am so fat!!

Are there any exercises or something that can enlarge my breasts, or transfer most of the fat from my stomach to my breasts?

No
