How can i get rid of my stomach fat really fast?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I am so overweight but my stomach is the biggest part. My pants won’t buttom because of my stomach and when i get a pair to fit over my stomach, then they won’t stay on my behind? I need to know how to get rid of all this stomach fat really fast cuz it’s gettin me really depressed.

You can’t choose what part of your body you loose weight from though, you can tone that part. I recommend eating a little less and working out more, you sure you aren’t getting bloated? To loose one pound you need to burn 3500 calories. Try eating lots of fruits and veggies and less meat, carbs. and junk food in general. Start running or working out and getting a little more exercise in, even if it is parking at the back of the parking lot at stores. Lastly, get a larger pair of pants. You need to feel good about yourself to loose weight and be accepting of your body, don’t let those pants that shrunk in the wash get your down! You can do it!

My lower abdominals are too weak to do most lower abs exercises! What do I do to train them?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I am 5′8", 145 lbs. My lower body is more developed muscle-wise than my upper body. I try to train them equally but my lower body training has definitely seen faster improvements than my upper body training. I try to incorporate abs into my workout, but my upper abs are more developed than my lower abs. Not only recently did I realize when I try to work my lower abs (lying leg raises for example) that I am improperly performing these movements, ie. radically arched lower back. I can’t seem to keep my lower back presed to the floor for most lower abdominal movements.

It is because my legs are just too big and my lower abs are just not strong enough. But how do I correct this? How can I develop my lower abdominals? What are some movements that I may be able to do?

Go 4 sets to failure on each set. First set at a fair speed. Second set slow and controlled. Third as the first and the 4th at full flat out until you are screaming. Do this and you’ll soon see a difference.

Can I use butter on the abs diet?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I’m 21 and on the Men’s Health abs diet. I’m trying to fit within the plan but I’m also trying to teach myself how to cook.

It seems like most recipes you can sub olive oil for the butter, but there are some recipes where the texture needs the butter. What does the Abs diet say about butter usage?

If there’s a max., I can deal. But it seems like it’s hard to fit in if I can’t use any butter (or if it has to be part of my cheat meal… I would like to cook these things more than once so I can actually learn how to cook them!)

(This is for people who love to cook): Do you find it hard to cook certain more intricate or sophisticated or "foodie" type of foods because of the abs diet?

If so, how do you deal?

Yes and be limited, about 1/4 of what you have normally have been using or use unsalted butter. You can also mix a little butter with the olive oil.

How to lose some stomach fat in one month?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I need to lose at least a couple of pounds from my stomach/waist before August 25. I want to be able to wear my new shirts w/out seeing all the stomach fat. Please help. I know you will say excercise, but which exercises? Crunches don’t really work. Also, no pills or spending money.

A couple I like to do:

1. Lay on your back with your hands flat on the floor. Bring your legs up in the air (keeping them straight at all times) and lower them slowly, but don’t let them touch the floor. Do that several times (I can’t really say how many, because you try to improve your count as you go).

2. Doing crunches do work, believe it or not, and it helps if you set an object (like a ball) on a table in front of you, do your sit-up and grab it, then on your next one put it back, etc.

3. If you lay on your stomach, then prop yourself up on your elbows and your feet curled onto the floor, try and hold yourself up as long as possible. Great core exercise.

4. Do crunches, but touch your knees to your elbows each time. Generally better than regular sit-ups.

5. Last one I can think of off the top of my head, is to lay on your back, and hold your knees at a 90 degree angle, and bring them toward your chest and out again.

:)

They’re great, try them. It’s fun to see how many more you can do each time. Good luck!

How to get abs in just a month?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I was wondering if there is a fitness tip or watever to help me get the body that i want I want rock hard abs is there somthing i could do in just a month and a few days

Ab exercises won’t necessarily reduce fat over the abs. We can’t spot reduce fat from different areas of the body with specific exercises, although that doesn’t mean you can’t lose fat from the abdominal area. That can happen if you reduce your overall body fat, although your genes will determine where the fat comes off. The following steps will help you get started:
1.) Regular cardio exercise, do 30 minutes to one hour (preferably) a day of an aerobic exercise to get your heart rate up, so your body can burn fat.
2.) Strength training for your entire body 1-3 non-consecutive days a week. Try reading, “Total Body Strength for Beginners” at: http://exercise.about.com/cs/exbeginners/l/blbegstrength.htm
3.) A healthy low-calorie diet. This is a very critical part of your program. To make it work you really should:
A. Keep a food log in which you write down everything you eat or drink.
B. Use a food calculator to determine about how many calories you eat each day.
4.) Begin changing bad habits by replacing them, one by one, with healthier choices (fruits and veggies will fill you up and give you nutrients and fiber).
5.) Keep an eye on your portion sizes.
6.) Make small changes every day instead of changing everything at once.

has anyone ever heard of the abs diet? If so, what should you eat for snacks?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

This diet is called "The Abs Diet, Eat Right Every Time." From David Zinczenko, editor and chief from Men’sHealth Magazine. I have the book, and I understand what to eat for regular meals, but what do you eat for your snacks 2 hours before meals?

In the book (I wish I had a copy with me right now) he has two listings. There is an A group and a B group. He says to select one of each group and that’s a snack. If I’m not mistaken, one group is Protein/Dairy and the other is Carbs. Here are a few snacks that I eat.
An apple and cashews/almonds
Slim Fast Shake
GrapeNuts and Milk
Granola in Milk

I can’t tell enough people about this wonderful program that David Zinczenko has developed. I did it last year and dropped from 192 lbs. to 175 lbs. in 10 weeks. I’m currently following the program again. I’m finishing my third week. Through 2 weeks, I went from 189 to 182. That was with little to no exercise. I can only imagine what will happen when I really start to excercise.

Summer Workout for fat burning weight loss – how to get flat stomach – six pack ( female / male )

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Working aerobically on your abdominal muscles for over 7 minutes stimulates the capillaries in this area. These in turn increase the blood flow. A greater blood flow means a greater flow of oxygen – and fat only burns in the presence of oxygen. Toned muscles need more calories (kcal) to stay active. Our organism tends to release these calories from the area nearest the muscle, in this case the waist area.

How many abs exercises categories are there?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

How many abs exercises categories are there? I know there are upper and lower abs exercises, but I was wondering if these are all.

And can someone give me a list of the best abs exercises for each category? Because I want to do abs workouts 4 days a week with each day devoted to a certain part of the abs.

Thanks

The list below are the areas of the abs. At the end of each section are some sample exercises:

Obliques (Internal and External). Your obliques are located on the side and front of your midsection, right around your waist. The internal obliques are located just below your external obliques. As you can see in the picture, the internal obliques cross the external obliques diagonally. The obliques are responsible for twisting movements and bending at the side.

Exercises: Oblique Crunch on Exercise Ball, Russian Twist

Rectus Abdominis. For most people, this muscle is the one that they are thinking of when they say they want six pack abs. This pair of muscles runs along the front of the abdomen and is separated vertically by the linea alba. It is crossed by 3 or 4 fibrous bands called the tendinous inscriptions. These bands are what produces the six pack when the abdominal region is well defined. This is the muscle that makes up what people call the upper and lower abs.

Exercise: Standard Crunch on Exercise Ball, Hanging Leg Raises, Cable Crunch

Transverse Abdominis. The Transverse abdominis is the depest muscle in the abdominal region and is located just under the internal oblique muscle. Though you cannot seen the tranverse abdominis, it acts as a "corset" to help hold your stomach flat and aid with pelvic stability. Not only will this muscle help with definition for your six pack abs, but it will also help you to use more weight in all of your lifts, due to its "weight belt" effect.

Exercise: Vacuum

These three groups of muscles make up your six pack abs. However, there is one other group of muscles that should not be ignored to round out your core muscles.

Erector Spinae. The Erector Spinae is a collection of three muscles running from your neck to your lower back. The are called the splenius, logissimus, and the Iliocostalis. These muscles act to extend your back and are important for overall posture. Working these muscles balances the work you are doing with your abdominal muscles and should be worked when performing your ab workout.

Exercise: Back Extentions on Exercise Ball

What is the best workout to get abs?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

I want to get some abs. I know i have them because i can feel them. Just need to get about 1/4 in of skin off so they show. What is a really good workout?

Its a common misconception that you can get tight abs just by doing ab workouts alone. Sure the workouts strengthen your muscle, but the ONLY way for them to show is if you lose the fat around your middle, and the ONLY way to do this is through lots of cardio which burns fat and eating more veggies and fruit. My advice is to do some sort of cardio for at least 30 minutes. My favorite is running. You can either run at a good steady pace, or do intervals. One thing I do that is helpful is warming up for 3 minutes at an easy pace, then stretch. Then run at intervals of 90 seconds at a moderate pace, and then 30 seconds at a fast, sprint pace, then back to 90. Do this until around 25 minutes of passed, then gradually cool down the last 5 minutes or so.

Also, in order to lose at least a pound, you have to shave off 3500 calories over the course of a week. This can be done through eating less calories, by exercise, or the best way, a combination of both. If you do these things then you will lose some fat and your abs will show… Although, the extent to which you lose fat and where depends.. people are different, and genetics dictates your results.

as far as ab exercises go, bicycles, crunches, leg raises, and planks are all very effective. Hope this helps!!! goodluck :)
